Fire protection bunkers

Very interesting segment in last week’s 7.30 programme about Fire Bunkers. This was also extensively covered in an ABC news article.

I can see where they’d be more than useful in the event of a sudden weather change which would disallow evacuation of the property in good time, but I think that would be the only instance I could think of to actually have to use one.

My instinct would be not to be there anyway, as seemed to be the Fire Service’s argument.

As a last line of defence as regards preservation of life, then absolutely, as long as they are built and installed professionally of course as we have seen the tragic results of home made fire bunkers causing death by not doing the job of protection effectively.
